Ask for separate checks

Damn.  Too many nights have I been in a group trying to figure out who owes what.  It’s a situation that is almost always messy and ends up with one person paying too much and someone not paying enough.  Asking for separate checks can be easy to request and not awkward at all.  Simply say that you’re using a card and don’t have cash.  No one will know if that’s truly the case.
